Blake Carters ceramic work often centers on what’s useful. The functional ware listed here is inspired by his daily work, but also by the Intentional Living Movement. The hope is that every piece built for function, does find use in peoples daily life. But, that the function of each piece is doubled to bring joy and beauty into daily life, while also serving its purpose in use.

Personal touch in every piece. As each and every piece is produced by hand, each mug, plate, bowl, and so on carries its own unique quality. Verity found in human nature, to make the world feel more human.

From clay body to glaze the work is unique.Through his studies, Blake has learned to work with a wide range of clay bodies and glazes. Mixing most of his glazes to fire to his favored cone 6 electric kiln. Blake also has experience with high fire reduction, that produces deeper earth tones and surface elements decided by the internal atmosphere of the kiln.
